My name is Kristen Shumaker. A little bit about me, I am from Columbus, MS and have been
married to my husband, Garret for 13 years. We have 4 children together: Layton (9), Charlee
(6), Ben (4), and Ollie (7 months). I have a masters in Elementary Education and taught 1st grade
for 10 years. We moved to California five years ago so my husband could pursue a doctoral
degree in Clinical Psychology. During our time away, God strengthened my faith by placing us in
an amazing church community. I want to be able to share that same love and compassion God
has demonstrated to my family with others. Working with children is a passion of mine and
being able to share my love for the Lord with them is an honor.
About Me: "I'm a sinner saved by grace. I was born in Rhode Island but I headed south as quickly as I could. I love baking and I'm not half as funny as I think I am."
Jared is a graduate of Madison Ridgeland Academy and Belhaven University. We're excited to see where God leads our youth ministry under Jared guidance.
